![]() GUIDED RELAXATION/MEDITATION CLASS - "EMBODIED" We all want internal peace and to increase our quality of living - How do we do this? We cultivate it, firstly within ourselves, so that we may extend it into our relationships with others and the world around us. We live in a world where stress and its counterpart anxiety, have profound affect on how we perceive ourselves and the respective world around us, often leaving us with an experience of depletion in our emotional, mental and physical well being. What is happening in the mind is reflected into the body, and with the many demanding roles and responsibilities we take on, our personal self-care often becomes an afterthought. Join Shelley Lynn in her weekly guided full body Relaxation/Meditation class - "Embodied" Progressive in nature and accessible to all levels of experience. This guided relaxation is unique in that we will be introduced to the specific psychological constructs, and emotional holdings of consciousness that are held within the major systems of the body, including the skeletal system and major organs. Laying in Savasana, participants will be gently guided, supporting awareness towards breathing, visualization and the sensate. Bringing focus to our bodies systems will facilitate the release of holdings and blockages that may be occurring within these systems to promote optimal ease, relaxation and flow within our emotional/mental states and physiological functions. Shelley has a life time professional career in wellness and healing, 25 years experience which included a private practice as a Consciousness Body-Mind Therapist -- holding a background in energetic systems, western and eastern psychology and philosophy, Human Biology, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Addictions, and meditation/negotiation for family and social structures. As an advocate for the human being and our respective individual and collective experiences, Shelley is supportive towards untangling our sometimes challenging relation to our understandings of Emotional Intelligence, intuition, and trauma and grief on both the emotional and physical level. She teaches self- authored workshops and talks on a wide variety of subjects created to empower individuals and groups in strengthening our connection with self and our collective relationships as a humanity. Shelley is also an artist, published poet and writer, and former Arts Columnist who believes in the power of creativity and play, often infusing laughter and creative expression into her facilitating. She is a professional member of the APA, former member of the Alberta Health Sciences Association, and has volunteered with Suicide/Crisis Line, Sexual Assault Crisis Line, and indigent and other higher risk populations. Shelley was born and raised in Edmonton and has just recently returned after residing in British Columbia for the last 17 years, 1 of which was spent living in India, as well as extensive global travel.
